Deinterlacing and New Anime

First off, a little update from my predicament with the Kiddy Grade DVDs which I couldn’t bear to watch because of interlacing.

I’ve been watching DVDs in Windows Media Player because for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out how to get deinterlacing working in Media Player Classic. I tried all sorts of MPC and ffdshow options, but nothing seemed to make a difference. I don’t know why, but I had another shot at it tonight, and things worked a little better. Deinterlacing and ATI Avivo graphics cards

Well, I found a solution to my deinterlacing problem with the Kiddy Grade DVDs. Setting deinterlacing to “Motion adaptive” in the ATI control panel (I’ve got an X1950XT with Avivo) allows much better playback with Windows Media Player 10. In fact, it looks fantastic in comparison to anything I can get Media Player Classic to spit out.

I don’t like using Windows Media Player, but in this case, I’ll put up with it. :)
